11 Months!!!

Well, people where right when they told you to go out as much as possible with your newborn because when they get to be 9 mo + you aren't going to be able to go anywhere but McDonald's. Will is on the move and he is into everything anything he can get his hands on, (door handles, oven switches, console table, fireplace, toilets, dishwasher, fridge) you name it, he wants it.

He is really walking around everything he pulls himself up on so I think he will be walking close to his birthday. He can now wave hello/goodbye, dance to songs (and he expects you to dance with him), high five, shake his head no (hmm, maybe because he hears us saying it so often . . . which he thinks is funny), some what play catch and give kisses (slobber all over you) . . . and the list goes on. He is at such a fun stage but he definitely keeps us moving. He is quick too - I have never seen a toddler move so fast when he sees a door/gate open to either the stairs, pantry closet, bathroom and his favorite - dishwasher. I hope this means he is going to be quick on perhaps a basketball court . . . I really would like at least one of my 3-4 kids I would like to have get a scholarship. :)

Work has been going well and Will really likes his nanny so everything has worked out great. Check back with me when he goes to daycare, I may be a mess at that point. :) Having him at home has been so nice!!!

Our summer has been a busy, yet very fun one. We have been to the zoo, boating, pool, a few weddings and this weekend we have friends in town from Chile! We haven't seen them in 2 years and we get to meet their 3 month old little girl - I can't wait to get my hands on her . . . I just LOVE the infant stage! If there was one wish I was granted, it would be to go back to when Will was born and snuggle with him. It is my absolute favorite stage. Don't get me wrong, I really do love every stage, but there is something about infants that I just can't get enough.

Will is 10 Months Old and Momma's got a new job :)

Another month and Will's got some new tricks . . . one of his favorite tricks is climbing the stairs. Today he climbed the stairs from the basement all the way to the upstairs. He is keeping us on our toes. Of course the gates we bought don't work for the main stairs . . . which of course are the most dangerous ones and the ones he LOVES to climb. Will also has his front teeth in . . . what a joy teething is - just when you think you have a break, 2 more come in. It's a never ending process.

We had a great Mother's Day weekend! I got a bicycle trailer that also turns into a pretty sweet stroller (which we love) and a picture frame to take to . . . my NEW JOB! After 10 months of staying at home with Will it's time to go back to work. It's definitely a bittersweet feeling but I am very excited about this company/position and think it's a great fit. The company is called Blue Compass and I will be the Web Project Manager. Besides it being a great company to work for - it is 2.5 miles from my house and they close for Christmas until New Years. SOLD! :) I start June 7th so I still have some time to soak up the sun and play in the pool with Will. We found a nanny for the summer so it will be a great transition. Our new nanny is actually my friend Lisa's (she actually set Tom and me up) little sister. Of course when Will met her he was all about her and was hamming it up. He is such a little flirt.

I can't wait to get the pool out . . . if only this rain would STOP!!!!!

Hope you are having a great summer so far!

I just love his little butt - look how long he is!!!

Since the gates aren't long enough I thought I would try to block the stairs - didn't work so well.

Wacky Will - Wordless Wednesday

9 Months old!

We officially have a crawler (although he still likes to army crawl because he is pretty darn good at it). Will is also pulling himself up onjust about everything . . . his favorite is his crib. We had to lower it all the way down (sad day for me as he is officially my little toddler) and I now have to check in on him after I put him down for his naps because he likes to stand up and drop his passy overboard. Stinker.

We had his 9 month check up today and was 31.5 inches (97%)and 21.5 lbs (68%) so he is doing great! He only had one shot this time and didn't make a peep. Will also had his "fangs" pop through (kind of funny to see him smile with those) and is now working on his other 4 front teeth. Teething really does bite.

As you can see from the pictures this child is a happy little guy! My friend Lori and I took the kids to the park and as you can see from the pic below he loves the swings. He definitely is like his Mommy and loves being outdoors.

Hope you all had a great Easter and are enjoying this beautiful weather!

80's TODAY!!

It's about time - we are so ready for Spring/Summer!

Well, Will is almost 9 months old . . . just boggles my mind. He is growing up so fast! His personality is really starting to shine and he just melts my heart every day. I don't think he stops smiling with the exceptions of teething (he has 2 on the bottom and 4 more are working there way in on the top), hunger (he LOVES to eat -his new favorite food is grilled potatoes and puffs which is hilarious to watch) and when he is tired (he LOVES to sleep - my sister makes fun because every time she is around Will is sleeping, which is true - he goes to bed at 7:30, wakes up at 7:00 takes a nap from 9-11 and then another one from 1-3 - one would think my house would be super clean . . . I find other things to do :)).

Will is army crawling around the house and pulling himself up on things. He is so close to crawling and gets very frustrated when he can't get places as fast as he would like. When he wakes up in the morning it's always a guessing game as to where he is going to be in the crib. Once he hears that door open he rolls over to his tummy and greets us with a big, excited smile. Makes my day. He's a very vocal little guy (hmmmmm . . . wonder where he gets that from) and is just a goof ball. And, he LOVES to be outside.

We hope you all have a Happy Easter!

Lots of "firsts"!

Will has had a busy last couple of months! He is officially half a year old (ok, now he is 7 months old . . .)! At his 6 month appt he weighed in at 18.10 (76%) and height was 29 inches (97%).

A few of Will's firsts the past few months:
1. Cut 2 bottom teeth (right at 6 months)
2. Chows down on baby food (loves applesauce, but doesn't mind veggies)
3. Took a trip outside of IA
4. Rode on an airplane
5. Sat in his stroller (I include this because he LOVES sitting in his stroller as you can see from a below pic)
6. Went swimming (which he also LOVED)
7. Saw the ocean
8. Sits up by himself (although when he sees a toy he wants - he goes for it (which usually results in him falling over, thus we still need to watch him :)).
9. Rolls over

Will and I went to Florida with my parents at the beginning of February for 10 days and had a great time! We missed Daddy, but really enjoyed getting out of this crappy IA weather! He did AWESOME on the plane and hardly made a peep the entire trip. Cousin Kayla and Aunt Sonya met us down in Florida for a few days and we loved having them there. Kayla kept Will entertained while the adults played cards, drank wine and enjoyed the Florida weather. :)

Nothing else is really new in the Jackovin household - just constantly smiling at all of Will's "milestones" and taking it all in because it goes by so quickly!

We hope you are all doing GREAT!

Love, Laura, Tom and Will

Sorry for the picture overload, but I tried to get in all of his firsts! :)
