80's TODAY!!

It's about time - we are so ready for Spring/Summer!

Well, Will is almost 9 months old . . . just boggles my mind. He is growing up so fast! His personality is really starting to shine and he just melts my heart every day. I don't think he stops smiling with the exceptions of teething (he has 2 on the bottom and 4 more are working there way in on the top), hunger (he LOVES to eat -his new favorite food is grilled potatoes and puffs which is hilarious to watch) and when he is tired (he LOVES to sleep - my sister makes fun because every time she is around Will is sleeping, which is true - he goes to bed at 7:30, wakes up at 7:00 takes a nap from 9-11 and then another one from 1-3 - one would think my house would be super clean . . . I find other things to do :)).

Will is army crawling around the house and pulling himself up on things. He is so close to crawling and gets very frustrated when he can't get places as fast as he would like. When he wakes up in the morning it's always a guessing game as to where he is going to be in the crib. Once he hears that door open he rolls over to his tummy and greets us with a big, excited smile. Makes my day. He's a very vocal little guy (hmmmmm . . . wonder where he gets that from) and is just a goof ball. And, he LOVES to be outside.

We hope you all have a Happy Easter!

Love, the Jackovin's.

Lots of "firsts"!

Will has had a busy last couple of months! He is officially half a year old (ok, now he is 7 months old . . .)! At his 6 month appt he weighed in at 18.10 (76%) and height was 29 inches (97%).

A few of Will's firsts the past few months:
1. Cut 2 bottom teeth (right at 6 months)
2. Chows down on baby food (loves applesauce, but doesn't mind veggies)
3. Took a trip outside of IA
4. Rode on an airplane
5. Sat in his stroller (I include this because he LOVES sitting in his stroller as you can see from a below pic)
6. Went swimming (which he also LOVED)
7. Saw the ocean
8. Sits up by himself (although when he sees a toy he wants - he goes for it (which usually results in him falling over, thus we still need to watch him :)).
9. Rolls over

Will and I went to Florida with my parents at the beginning of February for 10 days and had a great time! We missed Daddy, but really enjoyed getting out of this crappy IA weather! He did AWESOME on the plane and hardly made a peep the entire trip. Cousin Kayla and Aunt Sonya met us down in Florida for a few days and we loved having them there. Kayla kept Will entertained while the adults played cards, drank wine and enjoyed the Florida weather. :)

Nothing else is really new in the Jackovin household - just constantly smiling at all of Will's "milestones" and taking it all in because it goes by so quickly!

We hope you are all doing GREAT!

Love, Laura, Tom and Will

Sorry for the picture overload, but I tried to get in all of his firsts! :)

Happy 2010 everyone!

So far it has been a great year! We were able to see so many of our friends that we don't get to see very often over the holidays and loved every minute of it. I think Will might have a new girlfriend - my friend Erin was home on leave from Iraq (so glad I got to see you, Erin) and while Will is always a very happy baby - he wouldn't stop laughing, smiling or talking when she was around! It was hilarious! I use to think he had a thing for brunettes, but he has now moved to blondes! :)

Will is starting to sit up by himself and roll over from tummy to back . . . probably because he isn't a big fan of "tummy time". He had his first ear infection last week and was such a trooper. He isn't a big fan of rice cereal - but who would be? Last but not least, he is going to be 6 months old next week! My baby is getting so big!

We hope you all have a happy and healthy 2010!

Enjoy the pics!

The last time Sarah saw Will was when he was not even a day old . . .

My how he has changed (yes, he is wearing an ugly sweatshirt, I know).

Loves to laugh!

He has almost mastered sitting on his own.

Daddy and Will watching . . . you guessed it football!

Just woke up from his nap and is so happy to see me. :)

2 days after he was born - he was SOOO TINY in his car seat!

And now look at my little babe - almost too big for his car seat!!!

Once again, as I am writing this I wonder where did the past few months go? Thanksgiving has come and gone and I realized we never said what we were thankful for at either family Thanksgiving. I take that back . . . I did say I was thankful for Sonya and while I am extremely thankful for Sonya and all my sisters for that matter, I have many other things to be thankful for this year. In fact, despite a few bumps in the road, this year has been our (I am speaking on behalf of Tom and myself :)) best year ever and I think you all know why. :)

To start my thankful "list" off . . . I am thankful that I had a very easy pregnancy/labor/delivery and an amazing husband who was right be my side through it all. What made this the best year of all is welcoming our beautiful/healthy/happy son into our lives. All of the cliches you hear parents say about their babies are all true!! He makes our heart melt all day, every day and we are so thankful God chose us to be his parents! It is so fun watching him grow and seeing that personality of his come out. He truly amazes me and I love being a Mom.

On behalf of Will - he is very thankful for everyone that came to meet him and for spoiling him with all the presents. He couldn't have better Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, adopted Aunts (name I give my close friends :)) and family friends that love him so much. With all that being said we are very thankful to have such amazing/supportive family and friends that I can't imagine my life with out!

Onto Christmas . . . :)

We had Polking Christmas at my parents yesterday and what a great time we had, but boy did it go by WAY too fast! It was fun to see Will get excited with his new toys (OK, Will gets excited about anything you stick in his face) and he was definitely spoiled! I think his favorite was Tickle Me Elmo - he just cracks up every time Elmo starts to laugh/vibrate.

Will was mesmerized by all the action from my nieces/nephews that range in ages from 7 years - 9 months . . . the 4 sisters jabbering loudly about God knows what . . . the brother-in-laws bickering about whose quarterback is better (one is a Viking, another a Packer and the hubby is a Bears fan) . . . Mom keeping herself constantly busy entertaining this family of hers that has more than doubled in size and last but not least my Dad making sure my 95 and 86 year old Grandma's had plenty of wine in their glasses. :) I can't imagine it any other way and find it hard to believe that next year Will will be the one starting all the action with his cousin Jenna! :) What did we do for entertainment before kids?

We truly have had an amazing year and we are looking forward to what 2010 will bring. As time goes by so fast I have definitely realized more than ever that life IS too short to let small stuff get to you and you really do need to enjoy your life as much as you can, be grateful for all that you have and keep the people that make you a better person as close as you can.

Enjoy the new pics and MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Love, LAURA, TOM AND WILL

Will is 4 months!

Hello everyone!

Where has time gone? Will is now 4 months old and getting to be such a big boy! He had his 4 month check up today and weighed in at 16.4 pounds (76 percentile) and 27 inches long (97 percentile). He is going to be a tall one (are you surprised? :)). He had a total of 4 shots today and only cried on the last shot . . . this one must of hurt as it was the only shot that made the little guy bleed. He is now sleeping away!

Will has had a busy couple months! He went to the pumpkin patch with his cousin Kayla and Aunt Sonya. He was a Spider and Dalmation for Halloween. He had his first sleep over with Grammy and Papa Polking while his Mommy and Daddy went to Chicago to go to the Bears game with close friends. Spent a full day/evening with Grandpa and Grandma Linda. He has had lots of play dates with his cousin/best friend Jenna. He has been laughing non-stop. He has been sticking EVERYTHING in his mouth (his favorite object - his hands). He went to his first birthday party for his cousin Grace. He is chugging down 30 ounces, sleeping 10-11 hours a night and is just the best baby a parent could ask for.

He is just so much fun and constantly makes us smile. I still look at him and wonder how did we get so lucky? I sometimes get a little teary eyed with how fast he is growing - I swear he knows when those tears are coming because he just looks up at me and gives me his huge smile. He really does melt my heart and I thank God daily for him!

We are really looking forward to his first Thanksgiving and Christmas with our little guy. We hope you all are doing great and have a wonderful holiday season! We also hope to see all of you during the holiday season!!!

Take care!!!
Love,
Laura, Tom and Will.

I have to wear my Christmas jammies now because they are almost too small for me.
